The Former Knitting Mills became a huge outlet center in the 1970’s. “The Outlets” as they were know quickly expanded into a massive shopping destination across iconic red and blue brick factory buildings that drew visitors from major cities like Philadelphia, New York, and Baltimore. They arrived mostly on chartered buses and spent the entire day emptying their pockets! Back to school and Holiday shopping booms were common. Those days have passed but the memories live on!
